The sound studio at Callie’s was established to host musicians and artists working with the medium of sound. With an eye on research and interdisciplinary engagement, the sound studio is run by a small group of practitioners. Both a recording studio and a space for on-going research, rehearsal, and performance, the sound studio reflects the pluralistic approach to art that is fostered through Callie’s program, in which different modes of cultural production have the opportunity to work in collaboration and mutual engagement.
The studio is equipped for rehearsal purposes with a full range Klein und Hummel PA, a 32Ch Midas mixer, 2 vocal mics with stands. Additionally there is a workstation for close listening and mixing with a stereo pair of 3-way near field monitors and a RME soundcard.
